Ives's "General William Booth" with Inscape
Another smashing program from Richard Scerbo, Evan Solomon, and all their collaborators at the Inscape Chamber Orchestra. My part of the program is only six minutes long, but in that span of time Charles Ives managed to throw everything but the kitchen sink into his song “General William Booth Enters into Heaven” (a setting of Vachel Lindsay’s poem). Hear the rarely-performed chamber orchestra arrangement along with works by Michael Torke and John Adams.
